Ordbok / leksikon: 1 nøyaktig(e)
One seen near Mt. Kenya en route to Lake Naivasha 18/11, 1 at Crater Lake, Naivasha 19/11, 1 in Lake Nakuru NP 20/11 and 1 at Hippo Point, Kisumu 28/11. The taxonomy of this species is unclear, but there is an growing consensus that it should be split in 3 different species, 2 of which occurs in Kenya (this view supported by e.g. Clements). It seems likely that all the birds we saw belong to the form rhodeogaster and thus belongs to the Grey-headed Woodpecker (Dendropicos spodocephalus).
